BUSINESS HOURS

Our regular business hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The office is closed on weekends and all Federal holidays. Calls are monitored for emergencies when the office is closed. All other calls and emails are returned during regular business hours.

PAYMENT

Sit & Staycations accepts payment through our secure merchant accounts with Stripe and Time to Pet. 

PAYMENT PROCESS

A detailed invoice is always available for your review in our scheduling software, Time to Pet. You can easily make changes to any order through the app. In order to be active in our scheduling software, a reliable form of payment must be on file. Accounts without a form of payment on file will be set as “inactive” and all future services will be canceled. Once services are booked, we turn away requests during that time frame. To maintain the integrity of scheduled services, payment is due in full prior to services beginning. The stored payment method will be charged automatically on the due date according to the following schedule:

NON-HOLIDAY RESERVATIONS: Due immediately upon booking
HOLIDAY RESERVATIONS: Due immediately upon booking
WEEKLY RECURRING RESERVATIONS: Due weekly, 3 days before first service
OVERNIGHT RESERVATIONS: Due immediately upon booking

REFUNDS

We do not provide refunds, but credit the balance to your account for future pet care needs. Your credits expire after one year. The office manager reserves the right to evaluate this on a case by case basis.

CANCELLATION

We adhere to a strict policy of no overbooking. Therefore, once you have contracted services, we can not accept other requests and turn away clients that need our services. You will be charged for all visits and overnights without proper notice of cancellation. Our cancellation policies are in place to compensate our sitters and to encourage our clients to book services with intention.  

  • Visits and dog walks: 48 hours notice of cancellation. Clients that book 2+ recurring visits every week may have a  total of 2 cancellations per month credited to their account before being charged for a full visit. Those cancellations can be made no later than 8:00 pm of the day prior by contacting our office or canceling through the Time to Pet App. All holiday periods are excluded from regular, recurring bookings and will only be booked by request. 
  • Overnights/house sitting: 14 days notice of cancellation (30% of total with less than 14 days notice, 50% of the total with less than 7 days notice, & 100% of total with less than 72 hours notice).
  • Holiday periods: 14 days notice of cancellation (50% of total with less than 14 days notice, 100% of the total with less than 7 days notice).

Note: the office manager reserves the right to evaluate cancellation fees on a case by case basis.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY ACCESS

We understand that your friends and families may want to check in on your pets while you are gone, our policy is to not provide “shared” pet care with outside services, friends, family etc. This has to do with our insurance policy. It’s in place should anything happen with your house, or worse something with your pet(s) while they are in care of your friends, or while they were in your home, Sit & Staycations, LLC could be held liable, even though we were not responsible. We will not provide service for pets with another party. If we arrive at your home and there is an unexpected person in your home, we will leave the premises and report our finding to the local authorities. Additionally, Sit & Staycations is not responsible for any damages incurred to or in your home or to your pet during any time period that anyone other than Sit & Staycations, LLC has access to your home.

LAST MINUTE SERVICE

Sometimes emergencies happen – our goal is to help you when you need it most, even at the last minute. However, do not assume that we have received your last minute request until you have received an invoice/confirmation via e-mail. Services are fully confirmed when the invoice has been paid. A $15 fee will apply to reservations made with less than 24 hours notice. Reservation requests that are submitted not submitted by Sunday morning for Monday service will be charged the Late Booking Fee.

REGISTRATION FEE

A one-time $30.00 fee will be charged for processing all new clients. This fee is non-refundable. This fee is due before booking your registration meeting.

HOLIDAY FEES

We believe strongly that no pet should be left behind, and that no pet-owner should struggle to find responsible and professional care for their pets, especially during the stressful holiday season. Sit & Staycations observes all Federal Holidays as well as the two days prior and the two days post Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. Should you require service on any of the above days you will incur a per visit holiday fee and vary by holiday. Please visit our Services page for holiday pricing.  Regularly scheduled daily walks do not occur on the above days – however, we are happy to add them to our schedule and will assess the holiday fee. All holiday fees go directly to the sitter providing the service. 

KEYS

Sit & Staycations suggests you leave a key in a secured lock box for your sitter. You can also schedule our key pick-up and drop-off service, $20 each way, leave a key hidden in a predetermined place, or allow entry with a garage code. Sit & Staycations will NOT retain a copy of your house key. If you ask your sitter to keep a copy of your key, Sit & Staycations, LLC will not be held responsible for it.

UNSECURED PETS

Sit & Staycations will NOT care for unsecured pets. This means outdoor cats or dogs.

SECURED AREAS

It is the pet-owner’s sole responsibility to pet-proof any areas of the home and/or property to which the pet has access. This includes thoroughly inspecting fences, gates, latches, doors and other devices meant to keep the pet inside or away from any ‘off limits’ areas. The pet sitter does not assume and has no liability for any injuries the pet may sustain while in its own home.

CLIMATE CLAUSE

Sit & Staycations reserves the right to adjust the thermostat, close/open windows (as long as it remains safe and secure), turn air conditioner on/off or etc. in ALL of our client’s homes if our sitters feel the climate is posing a health risk to your pet(s) in our care. Our staff will notify you if you are accessible.

CONFIDENTIALITY

We recognize that your privacy is important to you and your family. We will not, at any time, either directly or indirectly, use any information for our own benefit, disclose, or communicate, in any manner, any information to any third party

PRIVACY

Sit & Staycations requires the name and phone number of any guest or service expected to show up during overnight stays. The team also reserves the right to cover or turn off cameras in living spaces during overnight stays only. Locations of cameras must be disclosed during initial registration. This is purely for the privacy of our sitters. We do not use decals advertising our services on our vehicles for the safety of our sitters and your home while you are away.

ANIMAL WELFARE

Sit & Staycations does not condone the use of physical punishment or intimidation of pets by our team or clients, (including, but not limited to the use of: prong collars, choke chains, e-collars, physical corrections, and verbal corrections). Sit & Staycations’ insurance policy will not cover our staff if they use these methods/tools. Therefore, our staff will only walk dogs on flat collars, harnesses, and gentle leaders. 

PICTURES, VIDEOS, & MEDIA

Sit & Staycations loves documenting our happy clients and sharing them on our website and social media! We reserve the right to take video and photographs of client dogs during visits unless notified otherwise by client in writing.

DOG PARKS, PACK WALKS, & PLAYDATES

Sit & Staycations does not take dogs to dog parks where other dogs are present. We do not allow dogs in our care to say “hi” to unfamiliar dogs. We require one walker per dog unless dogs are from the same household. We do not participate in pack walks but we do love to arrange playdates and group walks that are responsibly facilitated by our expert team with the permission of all pet parents. Waivers must be signed.
